How to save asparagus fern from yellowing

How to save asparagus fern from yellowing

1. Scientific watering

Reason: Excessive watering will cause the roots to breathe poorly and rot, resulting in yellowing leaves; of course, insufficient watering will also cause asparagus fern to lack water and turn its leaves yellow.

Method: Water only when the soil is dry, and water thoroughly each time, but do not allow water to accumulate.

2. Astigmatism

Reason: It prefers a semi-shady environment. Direct sunlight will irritate it, causing the chloroplasts to be damaged and turn yellow.

Method: Pay attention to increasing the humidity appropriately and place the plant in a location with scattered light.

3. Adjust the temperature

Reason: Frost damage to asparagus fern will cause slow metabolism and yellowing of leaves.

Method: Keep the room temperature at 15-25℃ as much as possible, and the plant will gradually come back to life.

4. Appropriate fertilization

Reason: Too much fertilizer will make the soil more acidic and damage the roots of the plants. Too little fertilizer will cause the nutrients in the soil to be absorbed by the soil, causing malnutrition of the plants.

Method: Choose fertilizers specially designed for asparagus fern and control the dosage. You can apply more nitrogen and potassium fertilizers to promote the growth of branches and leaves.

5. Transfer the source of danger

Causes: Poisoning, pests and diseases, fire, TV radiation, etc. can also cause it to turn yellow.

Method: The source of damage can be transferred, disinfected and sterilized, and the yellow leaves can be cut off. If necessary, all branches can be cut off, leaving only the base.
