What to do if the leaves of Anthurium turn yellow

What to do if the leaves of Anthurium turn yellow

1. Increase lighting

If this plant is placed in a place lacking light or in the shade for a long time, it will develop poorly, with yellow leaves, no flowers and no new leaves. At this time, we should put it in a place with sufficient sunlight, such as a balcony or yard. However, if the summer sun is too strong, some shade measures are still needed.

2. Temperature Control

Unsuitable temperature is likely to cause its leaves to turn yellow. This is especially important in winter, because if the temperature is too low, the leaves will turn yellow. However, if the temperature in the house is too high in winter, the evaporation of water will become faster, and lack of water at the roots will also cause its leaves to turn yellow. Therefore, we must ensure that the indoor temperature in winter is in a relatively stable state, neither too high nor too low.

3. Replace the soil

This plant prefers to live in slightly acidic soil. If the soil becomes alkaline, its leaves may turn yellow. We can buy special acidic soil to grow it, or we can pour FeSo4 solution into the soil to keep the soil acidic. In addition, we can change the soil regularly or loosen it.

4. Appropriate fertilization

Improper watering or fertilizer use can cause yellow leaves. If the watering is inappropriate, you need to water it appropriately. Be careful not to water it too much or too frequently, and there should be no accumulation of water in the pot, otherwise it is very likely to cause yellow leaves due to root rot. If too much or too little fertilizer is applied, its leaves will turn yellow. If too much fertilizer is applied, stop applying fertilizer and water the pot; if too little fertilizer is applied, apply an appropriate amount of fertilizer and add an appropriate amount of trace elements to the fertilizer.
