The leaves of the green radish at home are rotten? You must not have noticed these points.

Poor ventilation

Poor ventilation is a problem that is often ignored by most people. In addition, green ivy likes a humid environment, so many flower lovers will spray water on it. Now the temperature is low and the evaporation is slow. If water stays on the leaves for a long time, it will cause leaf rot!

Therefore, pay attention to ventilation at ordinary times. In winter, open the windows for ventilation at noon when the temperature is relatively high. Also, do not place the green ivy directly facing the window to avoid frostbite.

Damaged leaves & bacterial infection

Generally, leaves that are accidentally damaged will repair themselves after a few days. However, if there are many pathogens in the environment, the pathogens will invade through the wound and then infect, causing leaf rot.

Generally in this case, you need to remove all the rotten leaves, and then disinfect the entire pot of green radish by spraying it with the mixed disinfectant.

Frostbite

If the temperature is too low, the leaves of the green radish will turn black and then rot once they are frozen. If the temperature is below 10℃, the green radish will be frostbitten.

First, move the green radish to a warm and ventilated place indoors, and then cut off all the leaves that have turned black, yellow, and rotten. During the period of regrowth of the green radish, it is enough to just pay attention to watering it. If the temperature is relatively low, water it when the soil is dry and wet.

Improper watering

Pothos likes water, but does not like stagnant water. If water accumulates, the roots of the green radish will easily rot, and then the leaves will turn yellow and rot.

Once water accumulates, quickly place the green radish in a well-lit place to speed up the evaporation of water.

If the roots have rotted, cut off all the rotten parts, then disinfect the wounds with carbendazim, dry them in the shade, and then put them back in the pot for maintenance.

In autumn and winter, when the room temperature is below 10 degrees, water it once every 4 to 5 days. When the room temperature is above 20 degrees, water once every 3 to 4 days. In summer, the temperature is high, the green radish grows vigorously and has a large water storage capacity, so it needs to be watered about once every two days.

Pests and diseases

In addition to improper daily maintenance, pests and diseases are also one of the causes of leaf rot. Common pests and diseases of green radish include anthracnose, leaf spot, etc.

Anthracnose mainly occurs in the middle of the leaves, with reddish-brown or dark-brown spots appearing first. Then as the disease worsens, the spots will gradually expand and form ring-shaped markings. Be aware that the same plant can be infected repeatedly.

If the leaves are infected with anthrax, you must first clean the leaves and then spray them with pesticides. You can choose carbendazim, thiophanate-methyl or carbendazim. Dilute the solution and spray it once every 1 to 2 days. You will see improvement after 3 to 4 times.

Leaf spot, as the name suggests, is small spots on the leaves, which mainly harm the leaves. Many small brown spots will appear on the leaves. The symptoms are similar to anthracnose, but the spots will spread all over the leaves.

If you are infected with leaf spot disease, you must first remove the diseased leaves in time, then spray 500 times the solution of mancozeb. Pay attention to ventilation and provide sufficient sunlight.
