Reasons why the leaves of pineapple turn yellow

Basic characteristics of ornamental pineapples

Ornamental pineapples only bloom once in their lifetime. After flowering, one to several branch buds will grow at the base of the old plant. It is not advisable to divide the plant too early at this time, otherwise it will be difficult for it to survive.

The method of division is: first cut off the flower stems from the base, then leave 5 to 8 cm of leaves on the old plant, and remove all the rest. The base of the remaining leaves will form a tube shape to store water. Be careful not to damage the small buds when cutting.

When the bud is about 10 cm high, use a sharp knife to gently cut the connection between the bud and the mother plant, and plant the small bud in potting soil made of leaf mold. After a year of careful care, it will bloom into beautiful flowers.

Reasons why the leaves of pineapple turn yellow

The ornamental pineapples bought by flower lovers are generally in their flowering period. As the flowering period slowly passes, the pineapples will slowly wither and die, and it is natural for the leaves to turn yellow. This is a normal situation.

Some flower lovers may ask, why don’t we see any sprouts at the bottom? Flower lovers should know that pineapples are originally tropical flowers. Although they can be bought in flower markets, they are produced in greenhouses. This type of flower can be used as an ornamental flower, but it cannot be cultivated for a long time in ordinary families. It is very normal for the leaves to dry out, curl, and turn yellow.

In addition, many flower lovers have a complex that no matter what flowers they buy, they hope that the flowers can be raised from generation to generation. In fact, this is not scientific. Although you can see flowers from all over the world now, they are all produced in greenhouses. When they arrive at the flower lover's home, it is still an ordinary environment, so flower lovers do not need to force it.
