How to care for the newly bought Zephyranthes

1. How to care for the newly bought Zephyranthes

Zephyranthes does not require special care when you first buy it. You just need to give it plenty of soft light, keep the soil slightly moist, and do not apply fertilizer for the time being. Keep the temperature at 22℃-30℃. Do not place it in a low temperature environment for a long time, otherwise the plant will be extremely susceptible to frost damage, and it will be more difficult to recover.

2. Specific breeding methods

1. Soil: Fertile sandy soil is needed to grow Zephyranthes. Such soil is loose and breathable, which is conducive to rooting and drainage. You can mix some leaf mold and decomposed cake fertilizer into the soil, the effect will be better.

2. Light: It likes light. When you first buy it, you can put it in a place with soft light for maintenance, which is more conducive to its growth. Do not place it directly under strong light, otherwise the leaves will easily be burned.

3. Watering: It likes a humid growing environment. When you first buy it, you don’t need to water it too much. On average, water it once every 3-5 days to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. You can usually spray more water around it to ensure the humidity of the air, which is more conducive to its growth.

4. Temperature: It likes warmth. When you just buy it, you can keep it in an environment with a temperature of about 22℃. Do not keep it in a low temperature environment. It is not cold-resistant. When the temperature is below 10℃, it is very easy to suffer from frost damage. Once frost damage occurs, the plant can easily die. Therefore, under normal circumstances, warming measures must be taken in advance in winter to help the plants survive the winter safely.

5. Fertilization: It likes fertilizer. When it is just bought, its growth rate is relatively slow and no fertilizer is needed for the time being. After returning to normal growth, you can apply some decomposed organic fertilizer or cake fertilizer every half a month, and also apply a small amount of compound fertilizer. This will make the plant's bulb swell and make the plant grow better.
