How many years can a Phalaenopsis live and how many times can it bloom?

1. How many years can you live?

Phalaenopsis is a perennial plant and there is no problem for it to live for ten or twenty years. Under normal circumstances, potted plants managed at home can live between 5-15 years, but during this period the maintenance environment must be suitable. Only with a proper environment can they survive better. For example, it is not cold-tolerant. If you are maintaining it in the northern region, you must control the temperature in winter. If the temperature is too low, it will be frostbite, and in severe cases it will die, and its life span will naturally be shortened.

2. Maintenance methods

If you want it to live longer, you must pay attention to maintenance methods. In terms of temperature, it is best to provide a temperature between 15-20 degrees, and it must be kept above 10 degrees in winter, otherwise frost damage is likely to occur. It likes light but is afraid of direct sunlight. It is recommended to expose more diffuse light and block out strong light. Its roots are fleshy and not tolerant of waterlogging. Therefore, you should be careful when watering. It is better to water less rather than more, otherwise the roots will rot and die. In addition, thin fertilizers should be applied frequently during the growing season so that the plant can grow more vigorously.

3. How many times can it bloom?

Under normal circumstances, it only blooms once a year, specifically between April and June, which means the flowering period is about two or three months. However, if the plant is pruned normally and promptly after flowering, it can bloom again. It needs to be cut off from the fourth or fifth node of the flower stem. In the later stage, attention should be paid to temperature control and moisture retention, and timely fertilization, so that it can bloom again in two or three months.
