Cultivation technology of Schlumbergera, what soil to use for Schlumbergera cultivation

1. Soil preparation

It likes soil with good permeability, and attention should be paid to the acidity and alkalinity, preferably neutral. You can prepare it yourself when cultivating, mixing garden soil, humus soil, and sandy soil, and finally adding an appropriate amount of base fertilizer to increase nutrients. You can choose bone meal or organic fertilizer. Lack of fertilizer will lead to poor growth.

2. Suitable temperature

It likes warmth and the temperature is best maintained at around 25 degrees. When the temperature is high in summer, ventilate frequently and keep the plant in a semi-shaded place. In winter, when the temperature drops, the plant should be moved indoors and the temperature should be controlled at around 15 degrees. The lowest temperature should not be lower than 10 degrees, otherwise the plant will be frostbitten and flowering will be affected.

3. Watering in moderation

It has strong drought resistance, prefers dry environment and is afraid of waterlogging. You don't need to water too often, just keep the soil slightly moist. If it is rainy, you should avoid the rain and there should be no water accumulation in the pot soil. In addition, if the environment is too dry, you can spray water appropriately to keep it moist and prevent the leaves from drying out. In addition, special attention should be paid to watering methods in winter. Less water is consumed in winter. If the soil is not dry, do not water it at will to avoid frostbite.

4. Proper pruning

Pruning should be carried out in time during the cultivation process. You can cut off the remaining flowers in time after they fade to reduce nutrient consumption. The stem nodes should also be shortened, which can be done by cutting off the three or four leaves under the dead flowers. The dense leaves should also be thinned out to ensure good ventilation.
