How to remedy the succulent leaves becoming soft?

How to remedy the succulent leaves becoming soft?

1. Proper shade

Succulents are light-loving plants, but they are not tolerant to strong light, so in the summer, you must pay attention to shade. If the plant is exposed to the sun, the leaves will easily become soft. In this case, it needs to be placed in semi-shade immediately, maintain good ventilation, and stop watering. Wait for the plant to slowly resume growth, and then expose it to light appropriately.

2. Increase the temperature

Succulent plants are usually not resistant to low temperatures and are easily frozen in winter. After being frostbitten, their leaves will become soft. If the leaves become soft due to low temperature, you need to move it to a warm place and slowly increase the ambient temperature, so that the plant will slowly recover. It should be noted that it cannot be placed in a too hot place immediately, as the high temperature difference can easily affect its survival.

3. Reduce watering

Succulents do not require much water. If you water them too much, the roots will not be able to breathe properly, which will cause the leaves to become soft. In this case, place the plant in a well-ventilated place, loosen the soil every once in a while, turn out the wet soil inside, and accelerate the evaporation of moisture. In addition, reduce watering to avoid the soil in the pot being too moist.

4. Treatment of pelvic floor degeneration

Soft leaves are usually due to root problems, so they need to be removed from the pot and checked promptly. Take the succulent out of the flowerpot and put it in clean water, let the roots be fully immersed in water, wash off the soil on top, and check whether there is any black rot. If there is rot, cut off the rotten roots and spray with carbendazim for disinfection, then replace with dry new soil and replant.
