Camellia's water requirements

Camellia's water requirements

1. Watering frequency

Camellia likes water during the growing period but cannot tolerate waterlogging. Normally, it does not require much water and the frequency of watering is not fixed. Generally, it waits until the soil in the pot is dry before watering. The specific frequency of watering should be determined according to actual conditions. In the spring and autumn growing seasons, water should be applied every 3-5 days. In the summer, the temperature is relatively high and the evaporation rate is relatively fast, so more watering is needed at this time. Therefore, water should be applied every 1 day or so, or once a day. Drought and water shortage should not occur. The temperature in winter is generally low, water evaporates slowly, growth is slow, and water requirements are less. Wait until the soil in the pot is dry before watering, keeping the soil dry and moist.

2. Watering method

1. Water thoroughly: Control the amount of water each time you water. Although it needs water during the growth period, too much watering will not only be detrimental to growth, but will also put a burden on the root system. Make sure to water thoroughly at one time so that the roots can absorb the water. If water accumulation occurs, deal with it as soon as possible to prevent root rot.

2. Combined with spraying water: In addition to watering the roots, spraying water mist is also necessary. Fill a small spray bottle with water and spray it on the leaves and surrounding areas. The air humidity should be kept between 70%-80%.

3. Watering time

In summer, watering should be done in the morning and evening, and there are not many requirements in other seasons.
