How to use choline chloride plant growth regulator

How to use choline chloride plant growth regulator

Choline chloride, also known as root and tuber enlarger and fat root, is a common plant growth regulator and is often used in crop cultivation. Let’s learn about the use of choline chloride plant growth regulator.

Introduction of Choline Chloride Plant Growth Regulator

Choline chloride is a regulator related to the growth of tuber crops. Its main function is to promote the enlargement of underground tubers. The mechanism of choline chloride promoting swelling mainly comes from its ability to promote the synthesis of chlorophyll in plants, thereby greatly improving the efficiency of photosynthesis and inhibiting plant respiration. High photosynthesis efficiency synthesizes more nutrients, while inhibiting respiration leads to less digestion. Through this process, crop nutrients can be accumulated; the more nutrients accumulate, the more nutrients will be transported to the underground rhizomes, and the underground tubers will become larger. In addition to promoting the expansion of underground tubers of plants, it can also promote plant rooting, increase germination rate, and improve the ability to resist adverse environments such as high temperature and drought.

Applicable crops of choline chloride

Choline chloride is currently mainly used as a bulking agent in underground rhizome crops such as sweet potatoes, potatoes, ginger, garlic, peanuts , yam, radish, ginseng, etc. It is also used in crops such as wheat and rice to promote ear differentiation and filling, and in fruit trees such as apples, citrus, pears, Jufeng grapes, and strawberries to promote fruit enlargement, early coloring, and increase sweetness, thereby improving fruit quality.

How to use choline chloride plant growth regulator

1. Underground root tubers expand

In the early flowering stage of potatoes and peanuts, and the early swelling stage of yams, onions, sweet potatoes, etc., 10-20 ml of 60% choline chloride aqueous solution can be diluted with 30 kg of water and sprayed on the leaves per acre of land. It can be sprayed once every 10-15 days, and applied continuously for 2-3 times.

2. Improve fruit quality

15 to 60 days before harvesting apples, pears, citrus fruits, etc., spray them with 200 to 500 mg/L choline chloride solution to promote fruit enlargement. Three days before harvesting Kyoho grapes, you can spray the leaves with 1000mg/L choline chloride solution to promote grape coloring and increase sweetness.

3. Seed soaking

After soaking rice seeds in 1000mg/L solution, it can promote rooting and seedling growth; soak cabbage and kale seeds in 50~100mg/L solution for 12~24 hours, dry them and then sow them, which can increase the nutrient content of plants and promote emergence and growth of seedlings.

4. Control the prosperity

During the flowering stage, 2-3 leaf stage, and 11 leaf stage of soybean and corn, spray the leaves with 1000-1500 mg/L of solution respectively to dwarf the plants and increase yield.
