1. Change water regularlyDuring the water culture period, the water should be changed frequently to ensure that the water quality is clean. When you first start hydroponics, you should change the soil every two or three days. After the roots grow, you should reduce the frequency and change it once a week. When the roots grow to about three centimeters long, the frequency of watering should be reduced. In the later stage, it is enough to change water once every two weeks to avoid damaging the roots. 2. Add nutrient solutionThe nutrients in water are not sufficient, so you need to add nutrient solution. Just use a nutrient solution specially designed for hydroponics, and add the first drop every half a month. Be careful not to overdose to avoid burning the roots. In addition, you can also put a few drops of urea in the water, which will promote vigorous growth of the plants after dissolving. 3. Get more sunChlorophytum grown in water prefers more light and requires more sufficient light. Usually you should put it in a bright place and get more sunlight. If there is insufficient light, the leaves will become narrow and long and the color will be dull. However, you must pay attention to the scorching sun in summer and avoid the water temperature being too high. 4. Suitable temperatureChlorophytum grown in water likes to live in an environment with a temperature of 15-25, not too high or too low. The temperature should not be higher than 30 degrees, otherwise it will stop growing. The temperature cannot be lower than 5 degrees, otherwise you will get frostbite. In winter, the temperature should be kept at around 12 degrees. 5. Timely root pruningRoot rot is likely to occur during water culture, so cut it off immediately upon discovery. Note that if there are wounds, do not apply fertilizer to avoid wound rot. Allow the wound to heal before continuing normal management. |
