1. Sowing timeLavender is usually sown in spring, when the temperature gradually rises, which is good for the rooting and germination of seeds and the development of seedlings. If it is in the southern region, it can also be sown in autumn, which can also meet its growth conditions. The temperature is high in summer and the light is very strong, which can easily sunburn the seedlings. Winter is relatively cold, the seedlings grow slowly, and there is a risk of them being frozen, which will affect their future growth. 2. How to germinateThe germination rate of lavender seeds is relatively high, so there is no problem even if they are not germinated. However, to be on the safe side, they still need to be processed. First, prepare a container, put paper towels in it, disinfect it with boiling water, and then wait for the temperature to drop to the same level as room temperature, place the seeds on it, cover it with plastic film, and poke a few holes on it for ventilation. It is usually not recommended to use gibberellins to accelerate germination. If the dosage is not well controlled, it can easily cause the plant to grow too tall. 3. Pot soil preparationWhen planting lavender, you cannot use soil that is too acidic or alkaline. If the soil is too sticky, it will not be conducive to the breathing of the roots, and water will not penetrate easily. Usually loose and breathable sandy soil is used, which can be made from garden soil, peat soil and river sand, and a little base fertilizer is added. 4. Seeding and Seedling RaisingAfter preparing the potting soil, fill it into the flowerpot, bury the germinated seeds on it, and cover it with a layer of fine soil. Water appropriately after sowing and keep the soil in the pot moist. When the plant grows a little bigger, it can be exposed to light. During its seedling stage, it is also necessary to apply appropriate fertilizer, usually compound fertilizer. 5. Collect seedsLavender seeds are very small. Generally, after the flowering period ends, the flowers need to be cut off and placed in a sunny place to dry. Then beat it with a wooden stick to shake out the seeds inside. |
