How to remedy overwatering of spider plants? How often should spider plants be watered?

1. How to remedy overwatering

Although it likes moisture, you cannot water it too much, otherwise it will not be able to absorb all the water, which will cause various growth problems in the long run. For example, there may be yellow leaves, dead leaves, rotten roots, etc. Therefore, timely remediation is necessary. You can move the plant to a ventilated place and increase the light so that the water will evaporate faster. You can also loosen the soil frequently at ordinary times. If water accumulation is serious, it is best to change the pot directly to avoid root rot.

2. How often should I water?

How often you water spider plants depends on their growth conditions or the season. If it is in spring, when the growth is vigorous, you need to water it frequently and replenish water every three to five days. If it is summer, the temperature is higher and the water evaporates faster, you need to water it every day. If it is in autumn, do it once every three to five days in early autumn, and reduce the frequency to once a week after the temperature drops in late autumn. In winter, the temperature is low, the growth is slow, and the water consumption is low, so water control is necessary. If the temperature is below 0 degrees, the water supply must be stopped.

3. Watering precautions

When watering it, you should pay attention not only to the frequency but also the time of watering. For example, in summer, the temperature is high, especially at noon. Watering should be done in the morning or evening to avoid irritating the plants during high temperature periods. The opposite is true in winter when the temperatures are low. It should be done at noon to avoid frostbite on the plants.
