As a breeding industry that has emerged in recent years, the white jade snail has been loved by consumers because of its delicious meat, rich nutrition, high protein and low fat, and has extremely high breeding value. Let’s learn some simple techniques for breeding white jade snails. 1. Facility preparation First, select an area with flat terrain, set up drainage ditches, and plant plants that snails like, such as cabbage, sweet potatoes, bitter endive , and pumpkin, as feed . Plant trees within the site to provide shade for the snails. Set up wooden stakes around the farm and surround it with a 1.5-meter-high nylon net, buried 15-20 cm underground and 80 cm above the surface. Fold the net at a 45-degree angle, pull it down 50 cm, and secure it with small wooden stakes. 2. Stocking skills When the natural temperature reaches above 18°C and the vegetables on the site are growing well, you can start releasing snails. Place old lime in the site, place branches every 2 meters, and then cover with straw, wheat straw or weeds as a shade. Drip irrigation tapes are laid in the site to regulate humidity, or flood irrigation is used. When the indoor snails reach a weight of 3-5 grams, they can be raised in the field. 3. Breeding density If the breeding site is large, it should be divided into small plots of 0.8 acres and separated by nylon nets. Snails crawl against the wind, so an area that is too large or too small is not suitable. Generally, 35,000 to 40,000 snails are released per acre of land. 4. Breeding management Make sure there is no water accumulation in the breeding area after rain. When it is dry, the humidity can be adjusted through drip irrigation or spraying. Place old lime ten days in advance, feed the snails every evening, and observe their eating habits. Patrol the area every morning, pick up any snails that have escaped, and cover any that have not yet taken shelter with shade. 5. Escape prevention measures Regularly check the nylon netting around the farm to prevent rat holes or damage that could allow snails to escape. Prevent rats, frogs and snakes from harming snails to reduce losses. 6. Harvest time When the white jade snail grows to more than 35 grams, it will gradually enter sexual maturity. After mating and laying eggs, the appearance and taste of the snail's meat will be affected. Generally, 25 to 30 white jade snails per kilogram are ideal. The above is an introduction to the breeding techniques of white jade snails. In recent years, many new breeding projects have begun to attract widespread attention, but it is not recommended that everyone blindly invest in them.
