When is sugarcane ripe and when to plant it?

When is sugarcane ripe and when to plant it?

1. Maturity Time

It usually matures around October and can last until between March and April of the following year. The closer it is to winter, the sweeter it will taste and the better it will taste. However, today’s planting technology is more advanced, and most fruits can be grown in greenhouses where the temperature can be controlled, so they can be eaten in all seasons.

2. Planting time

Its planting time is mostly between February and April in spring, and no later than April. However, it can also be planted in autumn in some areas. The specific time is between August and September. It should not be too early or too late. It is recommended to start planting in late August.

Under normal circumstances, those planted in spring will mature between May and July, while those planted in autumn will have to wait until December. It is suitable for planting in areas with large temperature differences between summer and winter, and is mostly cultivated in Sichuan, Hainan, Guangdong, Yunnan and other places in my country.

3. Planting points

When planting, sugarcane buds are mostly used. The tail buds should be numerous, long and strong. Such buds have strong vitality, grow more vigorously and are conducive to high yields. Choose a fertile and loose plot of land. Plow the land before planting, and then deeply turn the soil before planting the sugarcane buds. This way, new roots will grow soon after they are planted in the soil.
