Homemade Insect Recipes

In the process of growing flowers and plants, we often see various pests such as aphids, scale insects, whiteflies, red spiders, etc. Many people want to make their own pesticides . Here is an introduction to the recipe of homemade pesticides.

1. Vegetable oil and detergent

First pour the dishwashing liquid into a small dropper, basically about 5 drops (one milliliter), or you can use a small straw to suck in 1 milliliter, then add 10 milliliters of vegetable oil. You can use common rapeseed oil , peanut oil, olive oil , etc. Put both of them in a plastic bottle, shake it, and add clean water to remove pests such as aphids and whiteflies.

2. Chili powder

200 ml of clean water, prepare 5 cloves of garlic (pre-made into garlic paste), prepare a teaspoon of chili powder, add 2 teaspoons of olive oil or vegetable oil such as peanut oil, rapeseed oil, and then add a small half spoon of detergent, then put it in an empty bottle, shake it vigorously to get organic pesticide.

3. Soapy water

The soap content should not be too high. You can add 50ml of soapy water into 1000ml of clean water and stir evenly. After the foam disappears, put it into a spray bottle and spray it to the places where there are pests. Spray both sides of the leaves.

4. Onion water

Mash 20g of onion, then add 1000ml of water and stir evenly. After soaking for 24 hours, filter out the onion and then spray the solution on the plants to effectively prevent and control pests such as red spider mites.

5. Tobacco water

Tobacco contains nicotine, which is very useful for making insecticides. Use 20g of tobacco, add 500ml of clean water and stir evenly, soak for 24 hours, then filter out the tobacco, then add 10g of soapy water, and then spray it on the spots where pests are found, which can easily kill the pests.

6. Diatom powder

Diatom powder is very easy to use to kill insects. Just sprinkle the powder on the leaves that are infested with insects. If there are pests in the soil, sprinkle it on the soil surface where the pests are present. The pests that can be dealt with include: ants, small black flies, snails, etc.

7. Neem Oil

Neem oil is a vegetable oil squeezed from the fruits and seeds of the neem tree. It is a natural pesticide with strong bactericidal and insecticidal effects. It can kill aphids, red spiders, scale insects, etc.

8. Pyrethrum

The pyrethrin contained in the flowers of pyrethrum has a strong contact and stomach-killing effect on insects. It can eliminate aphids, leafhoppers, scale insects, caterpillars and other flower and tree pests. Mash the flowers of pyrethrum and add water with a flower-water ratio of 1:5. Soak for 1 day and then filter. Take the filtrate and spray the infested flowers and trees.
