1. Seed soaking and germinationBefore sowing Clivia, you need to soak the seeds first. Soak the seeds in water, keep the water temperature between 30-35℃, and take out after soaking for 20-30 minutes. After taking it out, you can let it air dry for 1-2 hours, or soak it in sodium phosphate solution for 20-30 minutes, and then wash it with clean water. Soaking seeds can allow the seeds to absorb a certain amount of water, which can help them germinate and improve their disease resistance. 2. Pot soil preparationIf you want the seedlings to grow better, you must prepare special culture soil. A relatively simple method is to use leaf mold and fine sand, mixing the two in a ratio of 2:1. Professional breeding requires the use of wood shavings or sawdust, and fine sand or rotten leaves can also be used, but the effect is not as good as the first two. Before use, disinfect the wood chips, soak them in water, put them in a basket, press them down and set aside. 3. SowingThe sowing time of Clivia is not strict. As long as the temperature is between 20-25℃, the seeds will germinate, so sowing must be done in a warm environment. Place the seeds, eyes down, into the wood chips, keeping them spaced apart. Then cover it with 2-3 cm of wood chips and flatten it lightly. After spraying water appropriately, place it in a ventilated place. 4. Subsequent maintenanceDuring the breeding process of Clivia, you should regularly turn over the sawdust to see if the seeds have germinated. Wash your hands before turning it over, or use a clean wooden stick. Do not let the substrate be stained with oil, otherwise it will infect the seeds. Water the plants every once in a while to keep the substrate moist. If the temperature is controlled between 15-30℃, it will generally germinate in half a month. |
