How to grow geranium

How to grow geranium

1. Soil

To grow scented geraniums, you need to prepare the soil first. It should contain humus and have drainage and ventilation effects. You can use a mixture of garden soil, leaf mold, and base fertilizer to ensure that it can provide enough nutrients for growth.

2. Lighting

Its growth cannot be separated from sunlight. During the period of vigorous growth, it is necessary to ensure good lighting, sufficient sunlight exposure, and synthesize nutrients to promote plant growth. The light in summer is too strong and it cannot be exposed to direct sunlight. It needs to be shaded in time and not exposed to the sun.

3. Water

It is drought-resistant and needs to be watered in moderation during growth. Not too much water is needed because if water accumulates, it will cause root rot and affect overall growth.

4. Fertilization

Before planting, a certain amount of base fertilizer should be applied to ensure the growth needs. In the later stage, in order to ensure vigorous growth, regular topdressing is also required, and organic fertilizer is mainly used as the fertilizer.

5. Pruning

During the growing season, the plant grows vigorously, causing the branches and leaves to become messy and need to be pruned. Cutting off excess branches and leaves can reduce nutrient consumption and facilitate light and air transmission.

6. Ventilation

It is also necessary to improve ventilation and avoid growing it in a stuffy and airtight environment, which can also prevent the occurrence of diseases and pests.
