How to grow succulents without soil

How to grow succulents without soil

1. Time Selection

The choice of time is critical. You can choose spring and autumn. The climate in these two seasons is relatively mild, and it is also the period of most vigorous growth, so the possibility of survival is greater.

2. Remove the plant

If you want to switch from soil cultivation to hydroponics, you need to take the plant out of the potting soil first, and be gentle. Then put the roots of the succulent in water and gently wash them, keeping the roots clean until white roots appear. After cleaning, it is necessary to trim it properly, cut off the old and rotten roots, and leave the healthy taproot.

3. Prepare the container

Learn a lot about the varieties of succulents in advance. For some, you only need to dip the roots in a little water for hydroponics, while for others, you need to submerge the roots completely. Choose the right container according to the type. You need to choose a two-layer container, clean and disinfect the container in advance, and then add an appropriate amount of water.

4. Transplanting

Move the treated plants into a container, determine the degree of rooting and water level according to different varieties, and then place them under normal sunlight, exposed to bright scattered light, but not exposed to too strong sunlight. Shade them in time in summer.

5. Change water in time

The water of hydroponic succulents needs to be changed every 1-2 weeks, otherwise they may become smelly.
