How to remedy excessive fertilization in flower cultivation

How to remedy excessive fertilization in flower cultivation

1. Watering and dilution

You must be careful when fertilizing flowers. Do not use too much or too high a concentration. If you accidentally apply too much fertilizer and do not handle it in time, it will cause root burns. If you find that you have applied too much fertilizer, you should first remedy it by watering. Do this 2-3 times in a row to dilute the concentration of the fertilizer. If there are holes in the bottom of the flowerpot, the remaining fertilizer can also be drained out along the water flow.

2. Replace the potting soil

If the situation is very serious, it is difficult to remedy with general operations and the potting soil needs to be replaced in time. First take the flowers out of their original pots, then prepare new potting soil and set it aside. Rinse the roots of the flowers under running water, being careful to be gentle so as not to damage the main roots. After washing, set them aside to dry, and then replant them in the pots. After repotting, do not place the flowers in a place with strong sunlight immediately. Place them in a ventilated and diffused light place first to allow them to adapt.

3. Prune yellow leaves

If too much fertilizer is applied, yellow leaves will appear. Therefore, in addition to treating the roots, you also need to trim the yellow leaves and cut off the yellow leaves on the surface to prevent affecting the ornamental value.
