How to breed the lucky charm

How to breed the lucky charm

Propagation of the plant of Lucky Star

After the lucky charm plant blooms, one to several tillers will grow from the base of the mother plant. Do not divide the plants immediately after the flowers fade, wait for the best time. It is best to do it in April every year, and it is suitable to divide the plant only when the buds have more than 6 leaves. It is easy to take root when the temperature is above 30 degrees Celsius. The specific steps of division are as follows:

When dividing the plant, remove the mother plant from the pot and break off the new shoots with your hands. If the new shoots are too close to the rhizome to be broken off by hand, you can also cut them off with a sharp knife. If the roots of the new sprouts are not visible, it is best to cut the cut into a smooth flat surface to facilitate rooting.

Then disinfect it, apply wood ash in time, and place it in a cool and ventilated place, and plant it after the wound has dried up.

Do not water after planting, just put a layer of water on the leaves and the surface of the soil in the pot. Then place the flower pot in a ventilated environment and it will take about 20 minutes to take root. It will bloom after 1 to 3 years of maintenance.

Seeding and propagation of Hongyun Dangtou

Seed propagation is relatively simple, but seeds are not easy to obtain and the maintenance time is relatively long. In order for the lucky plant to bear fruit, pollination is necessary. Or you can just buy the seeds and plant them at home.

When sowing, control the temperature above 16°C, use acidic potting soil, and sow in the morning after the temperature rises. After sowing, cover with chopped moss or plastic film to keep moisture. After sowing, the temperature is controlled at 25~30℃ and seedlings will emerge in about 25 days. When the seedlings grow to about 4 cm, they can be transplanted into shallow trays, then transplanted as they grow, and finally planted in pots.

Seed propagation usually takes 3 to 4 years to bloom.

Tissue propagation

At present, tissue culture is also used, which is to use a culture dish in a sterile environment. Although current home technology cannot meet the requirements, the quality of the Chinese herb bred by this method is relatively good, and the number of reproduction is larger.
