Can chicken manure be used directly for fertilizing flowers?

Can chicken manure be used directly for fertilizing flowers?

1. Use it directly?

Chicken manure is a very effective fertilizer. It contains nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other ingredients and is very nutritious. However, chicken manure cannot be used directly as fertilizer when growing flowers. It has a strong fertilizer effect. If applied directly, it will cause root damage and may also cause ammonia poisoning and leaf burning. This will not only fail to achieve the purpose of fertilizing and supplementing nutrients, but will also cause damage to the plants. Before using this kind of chicken manure, it needs to be decomposed in advance so that the impact on the roots can be reduced.

2. Fermentation and Composting Method

1. Dry chicken manure: Spread the dry chicken manure flat on the ground in long strips, then sprinkle water on it, add rice bran or wheat bran, then turn the compost twice, pile it into a pile, and then cover it with a rectangular plastic sheet. Remove the plastic sheet for ventilation in the morning and evening, turn the pile over once after 10 days, and it will be ripe after 20 days.

2. Wet chicken manure: first spread a layer of straw powder on the ground, then spread the wet chicken manure on it, and sprinkle in appropriate proportions of urea, superphosphate, and quick-rot agent. After that, turn the compost twice and pile it into several small piles. Then use a wooden stick to make air holes and cover it with plastic cloth to keep it warm and moist. Also pay attention to ventilation.
