Open-field cultivation technology of strawberry

Open-field cultivation technology of strawberry

Open-field strawberry cultivation is the most basic and simplest cultivation method. It does not use greenhouses, plastic greenhouses , small arch sheds and other facilities, but only uses plastic film and straw covering before the soil freezes to protect the open-field strawberry plants. Let's talk about the open-field strawberry cultivation technology .

1. Open-air strawberry planting technology

1. Site selection

When planting strawberries, you should choose soil with strong water retention capacity, good fertilizer retention, convenient irrigation and drainage, high soil fertility, and a soil that has never been planted with strawberries or Solanaceae crops. The soil must also be slightly acidic.

2. Land preparation and ridge making

(1) Land preparation: Before preparing the soil for planting strawberries, apply 2000kg-3000kg of high-quality well-rotted farmyard manure per mu, and add 3kg of 3% 3% Pi Di Hu granules per mu. After mixing evenly with the farmyard manure, spread it on the strawberry field where the strawberries are to be planted.

(2) Ridges: Using a plough to till the soil can turn up most of the pests underground. After rotary tillage, a 2.3m double ridge is formed. The width of a single ridge is 1m. A 30cm aisle should be left between each ridge. The width of the ridge is 30cm and the depth is also 30cm.

3. Planting time

(1) Plant strawberries from late March to mid-April each year. If the planting time is exceeded, it will affect the number of strawberry seedlings . Plant only one row in each ridge.

(2) Before planting strawberries, spray them with 600-800 times diluted 75% thiophanate-methyl to prevent the strawberries from diseases. Remove the old leaves and excess inflorescences of the strawberry seedlings, and keep the three compound leaves of the strawberry. When planting strawberries, the roots should be covered with the original soil to ensure that the roots are not damaged.

(3) The depth of planting strawberries should be such that the base of the strawberry heart leaves is flush with the soil surface. Be careful not to bury the strawberry heart in the soil, and the strawberry roots should not be exposed on the soil surface. After planting, press the soil tightly with your hands. Water the roots immediately after planting. Water 2-3 times in a row to keep the soil moist. This will help the strawberry seedlings survive. During the rainy season, pay attention to drainage of the strawberries to avoid root rot.

4. Planting management

(1) Fertilization

After the planted strawberry seedlings survive, 5kg of urea should be applied per mu to accelerate the growth of the strawberry seedlings. During the strawberry runner period, ternary compound fertilizer should be applied 1-2 times. The amount of ternary compound fertilizer applied per mu each time should be controlled at 5kg-8kg. Special attention should be paid to not applying too much nitrogen fertilizer.

(2) Pinching and removing leaves

After the strawberry seedlings are planted, the inflorescences, old leaves, diseased leaves, etc. should be removed. The inflorescences on the mother plant should be removed frequently to promote the concentration of nutrients in the strawberry, allow the strawberry plants to be ventilated and light-permeable, allow the strawberry mother plant and seedlings to grow more robustly, and promote the mother plant to grow runners.

5. Planting density

A row of strawberry seedlings is planted in each ridge, and about 800 to 1,000 strawberry seedlings can be planted per acre.

2. Precautions for planting open-air strawberries

1. Before planting strawberries, spray them with 600-800 times diluted 75% thiophanate-methyl to prevent the strawberries from diseases. Also remove the old leaves and excess inflorescences of the strawberry seedlings, and keep the three compound leaves of the strawberry. When planting strawberries, the roots must carry the original soil to ensure that the roots are not damaged.

2. The depth of planting strawberries should be such that the base of the strawberry heart leaves is flush with the soil surface. Be careful not to bury the strawberry heart in the soil, and the strawberry roots should not be exposed on the soil surface. After planting, press the soil tightly with your hands. After planting, water the roots immediately. Water continuously 2-3 times to keep the soil moist. This will help the survival of the strawberry seedlings. During the rainy season, pay attention to drainage of the strawberries to avoid root rot.
