Ginseng transplanting method

Ginseng transplanting method

1. Transplanting time

Ginseng is usually transplanted in spring and autumn. Spring planting usually takes place in mid-to-late April, before the overwintering buds sprout. Autumn planting is carried out in mid-to-late October and completed before the soil freezes. Transplanting at other times is not conducive to growth and may also affect its survival.

2. Pot soil preparation

Ginseng has high requirements for soil. In addition to good drainage, the soil must also be loose and fertile. For potted plants, nutrient soil is recommended, but humus soil can also be used. However, you should put tiles at the bottom of the pot to enhance drainage, and also add a little sand.

3. Transplanting

Dig a hole in the potting soil that is similar in length to the ginseng, with one side lower and the other side higher. Place the ginseng in it with the roots facing the lower side. Make sure it has a certain slope with the soil surface so as not to hinder the growth of its roots. After planting, cover with potting soil and then add a layer of sand.

4. Seedling maintenance

If the soil in the pot is relatively moist, do not water it for a short period of time. If it is dry, you can spray water to moisturize it appropriately. Then place it in a dark and humid environment to avoid strong light and high temperature, which will be detrimental to its growth.
