When should the Jade Plant be repotted?

When should the Jade Plant be repotted?

1. When to change the pot

It is not suitable to repot the Jade Plant during the growing season. The best time to repot is just after winter or just after the beginning of spring. The approximate time is around November in winter, or in February in spring. If you change the pot during these two time periods, it will resume growth faster and prevent dehydration.

Be careful when repotting. If the roots of the plant are damaged during the repotting process, not only will it recover very slowly after repotting, but it will also affect its later growth. Do not expose it to light immediately after repotting, and do not water it right away. Wait for it to recover first, and wait about 3-4 days before rewatering.

2. Steps for changing pots

1. Remove from the pot: Take the plant out of the pot without damaging the roots, and clean off some of the soil attached to the roots of the plant. Prepare the flower pot to be replaced in advance and put the soil in the pot for later use.

2. Root pruning: Observe whether it has old, rotten or weak roots. If so, prune them. If conditions permit, apply some carbendazim on it and then dry the roots.

3. Potting: Place the plant with trimmed roots in the prepared potting soil, cover the roots with soil, and finally place it in a well-ventilated position.
