Monstera Pruning

Monstera Pruning

1. Prune diseased leaves

When the Monstera has yellow leaves and dead branches, it needs to be pruned. At this time, you should prepare a pair of scissors and cut off all the withered branches and leaves from the base. If the plant has serious growth problems, it will need to be removed from the pot and its rotten roots will be trimmed.

2. Pruning side shoots

As it continues to grow, many side buds will appear on the plant. They will make the whole plant look very bloated and affect its appearance. Therefore, when it grows many side buds, cut them off with scissors in time. This not only makes the plant look better, but also reduces the consumption of nutrients and helps it grow better.

3. Overall pruning

If the plant grows too lush and loses its ornamental value, it can be pruned. First, cut short the branches that are too long to control the height of the plant. Then thin out the overly dense branches to maintain an appropriate density. This will not only restore its beauty but also help the remaining branches grow better.
