Four Seasons Red Maple Seed Planting Method and Precautions

Four Seasons Red Maple Seed Planting Method and Precautions

1. Planting method

1. Process the seeds: Wash the purchased high-quality seeds in clean water, and then soak them for 12 to 24 hours. The soaked seeds are more conducive to survival.

2. Prepare the soil: Its growth requires loose soil containing humus, fertile and good air permeability. When planting, you can mix five parts of leaf mold, three parts of Akadama soil and two parts of sandy soil.

3. Sowing: Before sowing, it is best to spray disinfectant on the surface of the soil. Then use chopsticks or a small wooden stick to dig a few small holes on the surface of the potting soil. They don’t need to be too big, just enough to put the seeds in. Then cover them with a layer of soil. Then spray water appropriately to moisten the soil, and place it in a cool place for maintenance. It will take about a month for it to take root and sprout.

2. Precautions

When planting seeds of four-season red maple, the seeds must be soaked to germinate first, otherwise the dry seeds will be difficult to germinate. After soaking, not only will the germination rate be high, but the germination time can also be advanced. Do not overwater the soil during planting. It should not be too wet, otherwise the seeds will find it difficult to breathe and germinate in a humid environment. Of course, it should not be too dry either. In the later stage, water it once every three or four days to keep it moist.
