Lilac planting methods and precautions

Lilac planting methods and precautions

1. Planting method

1. Choose a pot: Its roots are relatively large, so when planting, you should choose a deeper pot, either square or round. The color is best light, so that it will match the color of the flowers better and look more beautiful later.

2. Root pruning: Before potting, you should first trim the roots, cut off the old roots and rotten roots, and leave more fibrous roots. This will help the plant adapt to the environment faster and resume growth.

3. Planting: When planting, stretch out the roots of the seedlings, then cover them with soil and compact the soil so that the roots and soil are completely combined.

4. Maintenance: After planting in the pot, water it thoroughly in time to moisten the roots. It has strong adaptability. As long as it is watered and weeded in time, it can quickly adapt to the new environment and resume growth.

2. Precautions

Weeding should be done in time during maintenance, in July of summer and September and October of autumn every year, to avoid competition for nutrients and affect growth. But be careful not to use a hoe, otherwise it will easily damage the roots. Just pull it out with your hands. In addition, pruning is required three or four years after planting, cutting it 30 cm from the ground. This way the trunk will be fuller and produce more flowers in the second year.
