How to plant Cineraria seeds

How to plant Cineraria seeds

1. Sowing time

Cineraria is grown from seeds and there is no fixed time. If you want it to bloom on New Year's Day, it is recommended to do it around May. If you want it to bloom during the Spring Festival, it should be done around June. It takes eight months from seed planting to flowering, so sowing can be done in batches.

2. Prepare the soil

Before planting, you need to prepare the soil suitable for the growth of seeds. They grow best in loose, nutritious soil. The soil must be disinfected before use, otherwise the bacteria or insect eggs in the soil will corrode the seeds and affect germination.

3. Seed Processing

If you want it to germinate faster, you need to soak the seeds in warm water for 8-12 hours. After treatment, the seeds can germinate 3 or 4 days earlier. Note that the water temperature should not be too high, about 40℃ is enough. Too high a temperature will burn the seeds.

4. Planting

Mix the seeds with sterilized fine soil, sow them into the substrate using the broadcasting method, and cover them with a thin layer of soil. The best thickness is to make the seeds invisible. Then use the immersion pot method to replenish water, cover it with a layer of plastic wrap or glass, and place it in a semi-shaded environment. Adjust the temperature to 20℃ and they will germinate in about a week.
