How to grow a pomegranate tree

How to grow a pomegranate tree

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: When breeding, you can mix fine sand, horse manure, leaf mold and garden soil to make the soil. This has good drainage, is loose and fertile, and is more conducive to later growth. In addition, it is important to disinfect and ferment the soil before burying it.

2. Watering: Watering should change with the seasons. If you need to control water in winter, water it once a month. In spring and autumn, water the soil every 3-6 days when the soil is dry or wet. In summer, the plant should be watered once every one or two days, and there should be no stagnant water.

3. Temperature: Don’t worry about winter when breeding it, as it is cold-resistant and can withstand temperatures as low as minus 10 degrees Celsius. It is usually suitable for growing in an environment between 15 and 25 degrees. Pay attention to cooling in summer.

4. Light: It likes light very much, and the strong light in summer is very beneficial to its growth. It should be exposed to more sunlight so that the flowers will be more brightly bloomed. If it is kept in a dark place, it will not bear fruit normally.

2. Breeding Methods

Its propagation is mainly carried out by cuttings and layering. When taking cuttings, you can use short branches or long branches. They should be inserted in a loose and fertile soil environment, and attention should be paid to moisturizing. The survival rate is very high. Layering can be done in spring or during the growing season. Just make a cut on the branches close to the ground and bury them in the soil. Not too deep, about 15 cm, and they will soon take root.
