How to grow poppy

How to grow poppy

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: Poppy does not have too high requirements for soil, but if you want it to grow more robustly, it is best to use loose and fertile sandy loam.

2. Watering: When it is in the seedling stage, you should water it less, just keep it moist. Normally, watering should be determined according to the humidity of the potting soil, and it can be watered once every 3-5 days. During the winter, you should water as little as possible, and then slowly increase the amount of water in spring.

3. Sunlight: It likes sunlight and is very cold-resistant, so when caring for it, it should be exposed to more sunlight and should not grow in places with poor light. And the breeding environment must be well ventilated, otherwise it will have adverse performance and easily breed bacteria and cause diseases.

4. Fertilization: Apply liquid fertilizer 2-3 times before it blooms, and apply thin fertilizer twice before winter. Be careful every time you fertilize it, control the amount and don't apply too much fertilizer.

2. Breeding Methods

The sowing method is usually used, and it is recommended to be done in spring or autumn. After harvesting the seeds, prepare the soil for sowing and water it thoroughly. When sowing, use the row sowing or broadcasting method. Do not cover the seeds with soil after sowing them because the seeds are very small. Or you can cover it with a layer of very fine sand so that the seeds cannot be seen. Just give it a germination temperature environment of 20℃ and wait for the seeds to germinate.
