How to grow Andrographis paniculata

How to grow Andrographis paniculata

1. Maintenance conditions

1. Soil requirements: Andrographis paniculata has good adaptability to life and has very low requirements for soil. However, using fertile and loose soil is more conducive to its growth.

2. Temperature control: It is best to control the temperature at around 25-30℃. The temperature in summer should not be higher than 35℃. The temperature in winter should be above 8-10℃ to avoid frostbite.

3. Watering method: It has a certain degree of drought resistance, so watering does not need to be too frequent. In spring and autumn, you can water it once every 4 days. In summer, as the temperature rises, water evaporation will accelerate, so you can water it once every 1-2 days. In winter, water less often.

4. Reasonable fertilization: Fertilize once a month during the growing season, and stop fertilizing during the winter dormancy period because it no longer grows and does not need nutrients to maintain, so fertilization should be stopped.

2. Breeding Methods

Sowing method: Pick the fruit when it turns brown, place it in a cool place and wait for the pods to burst, then take out the seeds. Use sandpaper to remove the wax from the seeds, soak them in warm water, and then place them in an incubator to germinate. Prepare loose, fertile soil and sow the seeds into it. Keep the soil moist until the seedlings grow out, and transplant them when they grow to 6 cm.
