Cultivation methods and precautions of red Guanyin bamboo

Red Guanyin is easy to grow. It has a short plant shape and lush branches and leaves. The growth habits of Red Guanyin bamboo are very extensive, so maintenance is very simple. In the daily maintenance and management process, you only need to pay attention to the fact that it is shade-tolerant and likes a well-ventilated environment. Even a novice can grow it well.

Cultivation method of red Guanyin bamboo

1. Soil

Red Guanyin bamboo does not have high requirements for soil. It can be planted by mixing garden soil, vermiculite and river sand. Such soil has good permeability and drainage. It is more convenient to manage in the later stage of planting with such soil, and there are fewer diseases.

2. Sunlight

Red Guanyin Bamboo likes short days. During the maintenance process, the direct sunlight time should not be too long, otherwise it will easily burn the leaves. The direct sunlight time should not exceed 4 hours a day. In summer, it needs to be moved to a shaded place for maintenance. When the air is dry, you can spray the leaves appropriately to effectively cool down.

3. Fertilization

During the growth period of Red Guanyin Bamboo, thin pancake fertilizer can be applied once a month, and water-soluble fertilizers of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium can be applied once every three months. Red Guanyin Bamboo is not tolerant to concentrated fertilizers and raw fertilizers. It is best not to use compound fertilizers during maintenance, and do not use soil and miscellaneous fertilizers that are not fully decomposed.

4. Diseases

When raising red Guanyin bamboo, you must prevent leaf blight, brown spot disease, aphids, etc. When the disease occurs, you can use methyl thiophanate to spray. At normal times, you can spray Bordeaux mixture for prevention. If scale insects appear, try to remove them manually if the number is not large.

Red Guanyin Bamboo Maintenance Precautions

The red Guanyin bamboo needs to be replaced with new potting soil every 1-2 years, and loose and fertile soil will do. If it is planted in the ground, it is necessary to loosen the soil appropriately, reduce the use of chemical fertilizers, and apply more organic fertilizers.

Red Guanyin bamboo cannot tolerate exposure to the summer sun. In summer, you need to pay attention to sun protection and do not expose it to the scorching sun for a long time. Potted plants should be moved indoors at noon, and plants planted in the ground should be shaded with black gauze.
