What soil is suitable for growing chrysanthemums?

Chrysanthemum does not have high requirements for soil. Ordinary soil can meet the needs and maintain normal growth. Providing it with nutrients can ensure that its roots can breathe smoothly, allowing it to grow better.

Chrysanthemum planting soil

Chrysanthemums are suitable for planting in loose, fertile, humus-rich, well-drained sandy soil, and the soil pH should be neutral to slightly acidic or slightly alkaline. If the soil is heavy, low-lying, poorly drained, or highly saline and alkaline, it is not suitable for growing chrysanthemums.

In addition, in the early stage of planting, you need to add an appropriate amount of base fertilizer to the soil. Organic fertilizer can be used. In the early stage of growth, which is the stage of branch and leaf germination, a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer should be applied, but potassium dihydrogen phosphate should be applied frequently before flowering.

Chrysanthemum soil preparation method

There are many ways to prepare soil for chrysanthemums. You can use garden soil, river sand and humus soil in a ratio of 1:2:1, disinfect and sterilize it before use to ensure sufficient soil nutrients and promote healthy growth of the plants.

When we plant chrysanthemums, we can also choose humus soil and sandy loam, which are not only rich in nutrients, but also have excellent water permeability and air permeability.

In addition, you can also add some cake fertilizer to the soil appropriately, and control the ratio of humus soil, sandy loam and cake fertilizer to 6:3:1.
