Cultivation methods and precautions of pearl grass

Cultivation methods and precautions of pearl grass

Pearl grass is relatively easy to grow. Its leaves are furry and look like cow hair if well maintained. It can be used as a paving grass, or it can be planted alone in a small bonsai to make a small bonsai similar to moss, which is also quite beautiful.

How to cultivate pearl grass

1. Temperature

When cultivating pearl grass, the temperature should be controlled at 25 degrees to 30 degrees, which is conducive to accelerating the growth rate of the plant. When it is cold, the temperature around the pearl grass should be controlled at above 10 degrees so that it can survive the winter smoothly.

2. Moisture

Pearl grass likes moisture and is afraid of waterlogging. During its growing season, it needs to be watered every 1-4 days. If the temperature is relatively high, the frequency of watering can be increased. Watering should be stopped on rainy days. In winter, it needs to be watered every 3-7 days to keep the soil slightly moist.

3. Fertilizer

Pearl grass likes fertilizer very much. When cultivating it, it is necessary to apply compound fertilizer every 15 days to promote rapid growth of the plant. However, the concentration of the fertilizer should not be too high. It is best to choose diluted liquid fertilizer for watering.

Pearl grass maintenance precautions

When caring for pearl grass, be sure to cut off weak, withered, and overly dense branches after the plant enters a dormant period in winter. You can also use cuttings to tidy up the branches so that the pearl grass can grow better.
