How to plant black chrysanthemum seeds

If you want to collect the seeds of blackheart chrysanthemum, you need to wait until the achenes are ripe, pick them off, and then place them in a cool and ventilated place to dry, and finally take out the seeds.

The seeds of black chrysanthemum are neither too big nor too small. When sowing, they should be neither too deep nor too shallow. It is best to control it at about 1-2 cm, and choose high-quality seeds for sowing.

There are two most suitable time periods for sowing black chrysanthemum, namely March to April in spring and August to September in autumn. The most suitable temperature for seed germination is 21-25℃. The germination rate after sowing is the highest during these two times.

1. Choose the soil

Rudbeckia has good adaptability to soil, but it is best planted in fertile, loose, breathable and well-drained soil. If it is a potted plant, you can use garden soil and coarse sand to prepare the soil.

2. Sowing method

Before planting, you need to prepare healthy, plump, disease- and pest-free blackheart chrysanthemum seeds, then sow them directly into the prepared soil, lightly cover with a thin layer of soil, and place in a cool and ventilated environment. They will germinate in about a week.
