When does gardenia bloom? Gardenia pictures

1. When does it bloom?

Gardenia is a very beautiful plant. It only blooms once a year, usually in spring and summer, around May to August. The flowering time of gardenia is not fixed and there are slight differences. The temperature in the south is relatively high, so it may bloom earlier. The temperature in the north rises slowly and is lower, so the flowering time is later, and some may not bloom until August. After the gardenia blooms, a single flower lasts for a short time, only about 3-5 days, while the flowering period of the whole plant lasts longer, lasting up to a month. If the climate is suitable, the flowering period may be extended.

2. Factors affecting flowering

1. Light: During the maintenance process, if there is a lack of sunlight, it will be difficult to synthesize nutrients and naturally cannot bloom. Therefore, it should be placed in a place where it can see light during growth, and more light is needed after the flower buds are formed.

2. Nutrients: Flowering requires a lot of nutrient support, so if there is a lack of nutrients during growth and you do not pay attention to fertilization, the plant itself will lack nutrients and it will be more difficult to bloom. It is necessary to add phosphorus fertilizer during the flowering period.

3. Pruning: Untimely pruning will also lead to no flowering. Proper pruning is needed to accumulate nutrients and promote flowering.
