Cultivation methods and precautions of Sedum sempervivum

Cultivation methods and precautions of Sedum sempervivum

Sedum is a succulent plant. This series of succulents can be said to be the easiest to grow. It is almost not difficult to grow and does not require too many maintenance skills.

How to grow Sedum sedum

1. Temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for Sedum sedum is around 10-25℃. The plant is quite cold-resistant and can withstand temperatures as low as -20℃. It can be grown outdoors all year round in most parts of my country.

2. Soil

Sedum likes loose, breathable and well-drained soil. Common cultivation media include perlite, coarse sand, peat, coconut coir, vermiculite, volcanic rock, medical stone, etc.

3. Lighting

Sedum grows vigorously in spring and autumn. It is best to grow it in full sunlight so that the plant can receive sufficient light, thus ensuring its shape and color.

4. Watering

When watering the Sedum, it is best to follow the principle of "water thoroughly when dry and do not water if not dry". Do not allow water to accumulate in the soil, and it is best to "prefer drought to waterlogging" to avoid root rot of the plant.

5. Fertilization

The plant Sedum does not require much fertilizer. Generally, when repotting, you can just add some slow-release fertilizer, which will slowly release the fertilizer effect.

Precautions for the maintenance of longevity grass

The most common problem with Sedum in its growth is that its leaves turn down, making it look like it is wearing a skirt, greatly reducing its ornamental value. If you want to prevent it from wearing a skirt, you need to ensure sufficient light exposure, not less than 6 hours a day.
