When is the best time to transplant succulents?

When transplanting succulents, it is best to use soil with good air permeability and drainage. Loose, fertile and organic soil is best. You can also use garden soil, humus soil, and coarse sand mixed in a ratio of 4:2:2, which can make the succulents grow better after transplanting.

Succulent transplanting time

Generally speaking, the best time to transplant succulents is in spring and autumn, specifically in March and April in spring and August and September in autumn. The survival rate of succulents after transplanting in these two time periods is relatively high. However, if succulents are transplanted in summer and winter when they enter their dormant period, they may die.

Succulent transplanting method

When transplanting succulents, you need to loosen the old soil in the pot first to avoid damaging the root system of the plant when removing it from the pot. Check whether the plant has rotten roots or weak roots. If so, cut them off in time. Then, just make sure the roots of the cactus are fixed in the soil.

Management of succulent plants after transplanting

1. It is best not to water the succulents immediately after transplanting. You can choose wet soil cultivation. For succulents cultivated in dry soil, you can wait 2-3 days before watering. Watering too early will make the roots unable to adapt to the new pot soil and cause them to rot and die. Do not water them in large quantities in the later stage.

2. Note that after transplanting succulents, it is best to place them in a cool and ventilated place or a place with diffuse light for 7-10 days to acclimate the seedlings. Wait until the succulents begin to resume normal growth and then receive sunlight, but do not expose them to direct sunlight.
