What are the cultivation methods and precautions of Dancing Spring Flowers?

Dancing spring petunia is also called million petunias, commonly known as small-flowered petunias. It has a beautiful plant shape and luxuriant flowering. It is a very popular indoor or garden decorative flower. Its cultivation method is not difficult, and novices can also grow it at home.

How to grow Dancing Spring Flowers

1. Lighting

Dancing spring flower grows vigorously in an environment with plenty of sunlight, but it cannot tolerate strong light. In spring and autumn, it needs about 4 to 6 hours of sunlight every day. In summer, it is necessary to block the midday sunlight and only expose it to the sun for a while in the early morning and evening.

2. Temperature

Dancing Spring Flowers can withstand heat and severe cold, and can be cultivated normally throughout the year all over the country. However, their cold resistance in potted plants is poor, so the potted plants should be moved back to the warm home as soon as possible and protected. For normal maintenance, it is best to provide a maintenance temperature of 15-30 degrees Celsius.

3. Fertilization

When the dancing spring flower blooms, there are many flowers and the flowering period is long, so it needs more nutrients. During the flowering period, a small amount of dilute phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied once a month. After the flowers fade, 2-3 times of compound fertilizer mainly composed of nitrogen fertilizers should be applied.

4. Watering

Dancing Spring Flower is not tolerant to waterlogging. Normally, wait until the soil is completely dry before watering. Follow the principle of watering when the soil is dry and watering thoroughly to keep the soil moist. When the weather is dry in summer, you can spray some water on the leaves of the plant at noon.

Dancing Spring Flower Maintenance Precautions

1. Pruning branches and leaves: Dancing Spring Flower is a plant that is very resistant to pruning. It has strong vitality and grows very fast. If you want it to bloom frequently and have more divisions, you need to do a good job of pinching and pruning. Especially after the flowering period is over, the remaining flowers, dead leaves, weak branches and overly dense branches should be cut off together. This can maintain its beautiful shape and reduce nutrient consumption.

2. Disease and pest control: Dancing spring flowers are prone to diseases and pests such as white mold and aphids. When white mold occurs, you can spray 600-800 times diluted chlorothalonil. When aphids occur, you can use 1000 times diluted DDT to kill insects.
