Cultivation methods and precautions of bird's tail flower

Bird's tail flower is very easy to grow and is resistant to high temperatures. It blooms in spring and summer. It is a perennial shrub that grows vigorously at ordinary times and produces large flowers when it blooms. It is a typical sun-loving plant, but in summer it must be avoided from exposure to the sun at noon and watered in time to avoid drying out and withering.

How to grow bird's tail flower

Bird's tail flower is an evergreen shrub, mostly used for beautification planting in flower beds, gardens, roads, etc. Of course, it can also be planted in pots at home. It is best to keep it in a warm place indoors. Although the light and temperature can be more casual, bird's tail flower still has some requirements for the soil. The choice of soil should refer to the soil of its place of origin, and choose soil with good looseness and air permeability, because it is afraid of water accumulation, and only soil with good air permeability will prevent its roots from rot.

1. Lighting

Bird's tail flower actually does not have high requirements for light. It can grow under diffuse light, under strong light, and in the shade. Although it can survive in various environments, the conditions it exhibits are quite different. Under semi-day conditions, the leaves of the bird's tail flower are relatively emerald green, and the color of the flowers is also more beautiful. It can be said that this quality of light is more beneficial to its growth.

2. Temperature

Bird's tail flower can grow under strong light, which means that it has strong heat resistance and can even withstand the summer light. Compared with other flowers, it is relatively strong and can grow under high temperatures. However, low temperatures are what bird's tail flower fears most, and its cold resistance is relatively poor.

3. Soil

Originally grown in India, it naturally prefers looser soil, so the selected substrate can be sandy, and the drainage performance of this soil is relatively strong, which can avoid water accumulation in the pot. The nature of the substrate cannot be alkaline. Both neutral and acidic can allow bird's tail flower to grow, but the acidity cannot be too heavy.

Precautions for bird's tail flower maintenance

When caring for bird's tail flower, you should pay attention to the occurrence of soft rot and gray mold. Soft rot will occur when the temperature is high and the drainage is not done well. At the beginning, many transparent spots will appear on the leaves, and later the leaves will begin to rot. Gray mold is generally easy to breed in low temperature and humid conditions. The most serious harm is to the flowers. At first, spots will appear on the petals, and slowly the spots will become larger and larger, greatly affecting the ornamental value. In severe cases, the flowers will wither.
