Cultivation methods and precautions of windmill grass

Cultivation methods and precautions of windmill grass

Windmill grass is a relatively easy plant to grow and its maintenance method is relatively simple. Windmill grass belongs to the Crassulaceae family and is a hybrid variety. It grows relatively fast and has a high ornamental value. It is suitable for growing in a humid environment.

How to grow windmill grass

1. Lighting

Windmill grass requires less light and is suitable for maintenance in places with scattered light. If the light is too strong, the leaves will be burned. If the soil evaporates a lot and the plant becomes dehydrated, it will be detrimental to its growth.

2. Temperature

Windmill grass likes warmth and is not cold-resistant. The suitable temperature for its growth is between 15 and 25℃. The potted plants grown at home should be placed in an environment with a temperature of 5 to 10℃ to overwinter.

3. Watering

Windmill grass is suitable for growing in a humid environment. When watering, you should follow the principle of watering when the soil is dry and keep the soil moist. In summer, you can water it in small amounts.

4. Soil

Windmill grass has low requirements for soil fertility and is suitable for growing in soil with strong water retention and air permeability. Garden soil can be selected as the planting medium, or a mixture of peat soil and river sand can be used.

Windmill grass maintenance precautions

When caring for windmill grass on a daily basis, pay attention to pruning old branches in time, which is conducive to the healthy branches absorbing a large amount of nutrients. Usually, the pot and soil should be changed every 2 years. The time for changing the pot and soil should be in spring from April to May. Maintaining a well-ventilated environment is conducive to the growth of windmill grass.
