How to grow hydrangeas well

After we buy hydrangea seedlings, how do we manage them so that they can grow quickly and smoothly? As long as we do these 5 things well, it won't be difficult to make them bloom in the same year.

Hydrangea is a plant that prefers sunlight. Comfortable sunlight can speed up its growth. If you want to make hydrangea grow better, what else do we need to pay attention to when caring for it?

First, planting material:

The planting material for hydrangeas needs to coordinate the water, air and fertilizer in the later stage. Therefore, the requirements for the planting material are relatively high. It should be loose and breathable, not compacted, not waterlogged, light fertilizer and slightly acidic.

A single planting material cannot meet these conditions, so it is recommended to use mixed soil. Mix one-third of each of garden soil, humus soil, and freshwater river sand, and add about 1/10 of perlite to make a good soil for hydrangeas.

Second, the environment:

Hydrangeas are not cold-resistant or heat-resistant, but they like sunlight. When the temperature is not higher than 28 degrees Celsius, they can be maintained in full sunlight. When there is sufficient sunlight, the hydrangeas will bloom more.

When the temperature is below 5 degrees Celsius, the plant needs to be brought indoors for the winter. When the temperature is above 30 degrees Celsius, ventilation needs to be increased and appropriate shade needs to be provided.

Third, watering:

There are many tricks to watering hydrangeas. When watering, generally base it on the dryness or wetness of the planting material. "Don't water if it's not dry, and water thoroughly if it is."

But you also need to be flexible. You can water less in spring and winter, and more in summer and autumn. Spray the leaves every day to keep them moist and cool. Watering with different watering methods can change the color of hydrangeas.

blue

If you want hydrangeas to bloom blue flowers, then when watering, try to use well water, water them with "ferrous sulfate" once a month, keep the soil slightly acidic, and blue hydrangeas will bloom.

red

To make red hydrangeas bloom, the soil should be neutral or slightly alkaline. Use tap water for daily watering, and water with plant ash water once a month to make the soil neutral or slightly alkaline to make red hydrangeas bloom.

Fourth: Fertilization:

When applying fertilizer on a daily basis, it is recommended to use organic fertilizer. By loosening the soil, bury the decomposed sheep dung balls shallowly in the shallow surface of the flower soil to meet daily growth needs.

Before or after flowering, you can add organic fertilizer water to supplement nutrients once a month. If you want red flowers, you can apply wood ash water and bone charcoal powder 2 to 3 times before flowering.
