Method and time for cuttings of green radish (quick rooting method for long cuttings of green radish)

The green radish is beautiful and easy to grow. Placing a pot at home can also purify the air, and is deeply loved by many flower lovers. So do you know how to propagate the green radish? Here is a detailed introduction to the time and method of green radish propagation, as well as what issues should be paid attention to!

Time for cuttings of green radish

The growth rate of green radish is very fast and its rooting ability is also very strong. Green radish grown indoors can be propagated by cuttings all year round, but spring is the best time because this is the most hygienic period for green radish growth and the survival rate of cuttings is the highest.

How to take cuttings of Pothos

There are two methods of cutting: soil cutting and water cutting. The survival rate of both methods is very high. Xiaoye will introduce them one by one!

① Green radish soil cuttings

(1) Select branches

Choose a healthy plant without diseases or insect pests, and cut off a branch about 10 cm long . The cut branch must have more than two aerial roots.

The so-called aerial roots are the black root tips on each node of the green radish, which can directly grow into the root system after cuttings.

(2) Bias cutting

Then cut the lower end of the branch obliquely , disinfect and root it, soak it in diluted rooting water, dry it in the shade and then insert it directly into the seedbed.

(3) Soil preparation and matrix

Usually, the cultivation medium should be loose and breathable soil , which can be mixed with river sand and vermiculite to enhance drainage, and sprayed with water to keep it moist.

Or we can use leaf mold, vermiculite and decomposed organic fertilizer to mix and prepare the cultivation medium.

And we need to prepare a cleaned and disinfected porous ceramic pot for the green radish to promote its vigorous growth. After cutting, we can cover the flower pot with a layer of plastic film to keep the green radish warm and moisturized.

(4) Maintenance after cutting

When caring for the green radish, you need to move the plant to a ventilated and breathable semi-shaded environment to promote its healthy growth. And the green radish is a water-loving plant. It needs sufficient water during its growth process and can be watered once a week. This can keep the soil moist and make the green radish grow leaves quickly.

② Pothos water plug

The selection and preparation of branches for soil and water insertion are the same. Insert the prepared treated branches directly into a container filled with water.

As for water quality requirements, if it is tap water, you can let it dry for two or three days and use it after the chlorine in the water dissipates.

To ensure rooting, the water of the newly hydroponically cultivated green radish needs to be changed frequently, about once every two days .

Management of green radish after cutting

① Light

When taking cuttings in summer, you should pay attention to shade and avoid direct sunlight. The green ivy itself likes a semi-shaded environment. Whether it is soil cuttings or water cuttings, you should pay attention to avoid strong light before roots take shape.

② Water content

Moisture not only includes watering, but also air humidity. Under appropriate air humidity, that is, when the air humidity is maintained at about 80%, the rooting speed of the green radish is faster. In order to prevent the leaves from drying up, we can also spray water frequently to keep them moisturized.
