Potted daffodil cultivation methods and techniques (soil cultivation and cultivation methods of daffodils)

Everyone has seen daffodils. It is a very common plant. Some of us have several pots of it at home. Let's talk about the cultivation techniques of daffodils and some things to pay attention to.

How to grow narcissus potted plants

Step 1: Select the bulbs

The daffodil bulbs we buy on the market will have the varieties introduced on the bags, and there are basically three to four bulbs. After opening the packaging bag, if the bulbs are partially rotten, we can use carbendazim to disinfect them, but the rotten parts must be cut off before disinfecting the bulbs .

Step 2: Choose the right flower pot

Find a flower pot of the right size. If it is a three-bulb variety, find a pot of about 22cm. A pot that is too large will soak the bulbs. It is best to use nutrient soil when planting the bulbs. If there is no nutrient soil, we can use weakly acidic and loose soil instead.

Step 3: Planting after applying base fertilizer

When raising daffodil bulbs in spring, you must pay attention to the base fertilizer. Natural fertilizers such as poultry manure can be used for the base fertilizer. When placing the bulbs, make sure that the germination area is facing upward. Cover the bulbs with 2-3cm of soil, move them to a cool place indoors, and water them. Water them more to keep them moist for easy germination.

Step 4: Daily maintenance

The daffodil bulb will sprout quickly in a short time. After it grows new buds, place it on the windowsill to absorb the sun. Fertilize the daffodil bulb every half a month, preferably with a thin liquid fertilizer . Generally, compound fertilizer is commonly used, which is very helpful for the growth of its leaves.

Precautions for potted cultivation of daffodils

1. Control the flowering period: Grow in water in autumn and winter, and bloom in spring, for about 40-45 days.

2. Prevent overgrowth: Remove the brown membrane when growing in water, cut the narcissus bulb vertically and horizontally, and place it in a shallow basin for cultivation. (Remember not to damage the flower buds) Provide sufficient light to prevent the leaves from growing too long.
