Planting methods and precautions of Bianhua (cultivation techniques of Bianhua potted plants)

The red spider lily is also known as the heartless and ungrateful flower. Although its flowers are particularly beautiful, they are also very coquettish. Legend has it that it is a flower that blooms on the road to the underworld, and the flower and leaves will never meet.

There are usually clumps of red spider lilies growing on the back of the hillside. The elders at home always forbid us to pick these flowers. They say it is a flower of death, a flower that accompanies the dead, and it is unlucky to take it home. In fact, red spider lilies can also be planted at home. Today we will introduce the planting methods and conditions of red spider lilies in detail.

Planting conditions of red spider lily

Red spider lily likes a warm growing environment , and during maintenance, it should be provided with a temperature of about 15-25°C . And the soil must be in a moist state so that the plant can grow normally.

Red spider lily mainly grows in gloomy and humid places . The plant likes shade, moisture and strong cold resistance. However, it is afraid of high temperature. The highest daily average temperature it can tolerate is 24℃. Loose and fertile humus soil is the best for planting.

Planting and management of potted red spider lily

Choose a flower pot

If you want to grow red spider lilies well, a suitable flower pot is particularly important. You can choose a medium-sized flower pot at the beginning. The specific size depends on the size of the plant, and make sure there is a drainage hole.

Planting

To plant red spider lilies, you need to prepare loose, fertile, slightly acidic soil for it. Never use clay. Then plant the bulbs in it, cover them lightly with soil and compact them. Do not let the soil accumulate water during maintenance.

For example, I planted 10-15 bulbs in a 3-gallon pot. As long as the bulb is big enough, it can bloom 10-15 flowers, which is spectacular.

Planting depth

The planting depth of red spider lily should not be too deep , it is better to bury the top of the bulb into the soil surface. The soil requires well-drained sandy soil or loose culture soil.

Get plenty of sun

If you want the red spider lily to bloom, you must keep it in the sun frequently. Don't keep it in an overly shaded place, otherwise it will only grow leaves without flowers to appreciate.

Generally, it needs at least 3 hours of sunlight every day, but it cannot be exposed to strong sunlight. If it is kept in a place with strong sunlight for a long time, the red spider lily will definitely not grow well, and the leaves will easily be sunburned.

Pay attention to watering

Red spider lily likes water . During the maintenance period, the environment needs to have a suitable humidity, so that the red spider lily can grow better. When watering, it is necessary to water when the soil is dry and wet, strictly control the water content, and avoid a large amount of water accumulation. Master the principle of "watering when the soil is dry and wet, small amounts and multiple times".
