What compound fertilizer is effective for garden seedlings? What fertilizer is best for greening trees?

When planting garden seedlings, chemical fertilizers must be used. On the one hand, base fertilizer should be applied to the soil, and on the other hand, topdressing should be applied during the growth period of the seedlings. Appropriate fertilizers can be selected according to different seedlings.

What are the types of fertilizers commonly used for seedlings?

1. Organic fertilizer

Organic fertilizer mainly comes from the feces excreted by livestock . In Jinghe County, Xinjiang, livestock are mainly cattle and sheep, which provide a large amount of organic fertilizer for agricultural planting.

It should be noted that before using organic fertilizer, it must be fully fermented and rotted. The purpose of this is to prevent the organic fertilizer from heating up in the soil at the roots of the seedlings, damaging the roots of the seedlings and causing the death of the seedlings.

On the other hand, after sufficient fermentation and decomposition , the harmful insects and fungi in the organic fertilizer can be reduced to a certain extent, so as to avoid the insects and fungi in the fertilizer from causing damage to the seedlings after fertilization.

2. Inorganic fertilizer

Inorganic fertilizer is artificially synthesized using modern chemical technology. Inorganic fertilizer adjusts its fertilizer structure according to the growth needs of plants. It has a single ingredient, but is easier for plants to absorb and promotes plant growth.

During the growth process of seedlings, because inorganic fertilizers are quick to take effect but short-lived, they are mostly used when the seedlings continue to supplement their nutrients, which is also called topdressing.

Currently common inorganic fertilizers include urea, dioxygen phosphate and other products . When using inorganic fertilizers, we should pay attention to controlling the amount of fertilizer used.

If too much fertilizer is applied, the seedlings will show slow growth, the branches and leaves will show obvious shriveling symptoms, and the new leaves and branches will fall off very easily, and the seedlings may eventually die. This is all because of the excessive use of inorganic fertilizers, which causes the fertilizers to emit too much ammonia, causing damage to the root system of the seedlings.

The best time to fertilize trees

The best time to fertilize trees is during the growing season. When applying basal fertilizer, it is usually done in spring and autumn . When applying topdressing, that is, when it grows faster, it is generally not necessary to fertilize when the tree is dormant.

If it is a fruit tree, topdressing should be carried out during the spring budding period, flowering period and fruiting period. Usually, nitrogen fertilizer is mainly used during the budding period , and phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are usually used during the flowering and fruiting period .

How many days does it take for compound fertilizer to take effect?

Compound fertilizer usually takes effect about 10 days after application, and the effective period is about 90 days. Ammonium carbonate usually takes effect on the day of application, and the effective period is about 15 days.

Urea usually takes effect about 7 days after application, and the effective period is about 45 days. Ammonium chloride usually takes effect about 3 days after application, and the effective period is about 25 days. Biofertilizer usually takes effect about 30 days after application, and the effective period is about 6-8 months.
