How to quickly grow green algae without growing brown algae How to quickly grow green algae

Fish lovers who raise goldfish or have native fish tanks like to see their fish tanks covered with green algae. When the algae grow, they look as beautiful as a green carpet.

In addition, green algae can also purify water and absorb excess chlorine in the water. Moreover, the algae in the native tank will produce a large number of bubbles after photosynthesis to achieve the purpose of dissolving oxygen. So, how to grow green algae instead of brown algae? Today we will understand it from three dimensions.

Lighting is the most important

If you just put a bucket of fresh water in the sun, it will turn green after a week. This is actually what green algae does. Green algae will reproduce rapidly in the sun, which is exactly the same as the characteristics of other algae. Therefore, if you want to have a good-looking algae tank, you need to place your fish tank in an environment with sufficient light.

It is best to expose the algae to sunlight for one hour a day. If the algae is exposed to scattered light, it will definitely be mottled, not dense, and will not grow well.

The temperature should be suitable

The characteristics of algae are somewhat similar to those of bacteria, they grow very fast at high temperatures. If the temperature is too low, the original green algae in the fish tank will not only not grow, but will also freeze to death.

If the algae in your fish tank grows well, all the algae will die after winter, and the algae will grow again when the temperature rises in spring. But it is best not to toss the green algae like this. In winter, a heating rod can be heated to above 25°. Basically, there will be signs of algae in a week.

Add more nutrients

The nutrients here are not fertilizers, but impurities in the water. If you have a new tank, you can scoop some water from other old tanks and pour it in.

The water in the old tank contains more nutrients, and the nutrients will be decomposed by nitrifying bacteria and converted into nitrogen that plants like. Nitrogen is a fertilizer that helps plants grow leaves, and green algae will grow better after absorbing nitrogen.

Or you can put a few small fish in there first, let them eat, drink, defecate and urinate in it, add impurities and provide space for the growth of green algae. After the algae grows well, you can put the main ingredient in.
