Sunflower transplanting precautions Potted sunflower transplanting time and method

Sunflowers will germinate a week after sowing. At this time, the seedlings are dense and the spacing between them is small. When they grow 3-5 true leaves, the distance between the seedlings is no longer suitable for the subsequent growth of the sunflowers. At this time, the sunflowers need to be transplanted.

Sunflowers like warmth and sunshine. They are usually sown in March and April and enter a vigorous growth period in summer. Transplanting needs to be done after the seedlings emerge, usually around April. Pay attention to weather conditions when transplanting. It is best to do it on a cloudy or sunny day or in the evening after rain.

Sunflower transplanting points

1. It is best to choose loose, fertile and well-breathable soil for transplanting sunflower seedlings. It is not advisable to use clay and soil with poor drainage, otherwise the roots of the sunflower seedlings will not breathe well and will easily grow poorly.

2. When transplanting sunflowers, be careful to dig the seedlings out of the old soil, leaving them with the soil ball, and avoid damaging the seedlings' roots. Dig a hole of suitable size in the new soil, put the seedlings with the soil ball in, compact the soil, and water them thoroughly.

Sunflower transplanting management

Newly transplanted sunflower seedlings are relatively fragile and should be kept away from direct sunlight, otherwise it will be difficult for them to survive. Try to move them to a place with scattered light, ventilate more, and ensure air circulation. During the growth period, spray water frequently and water in small amounts to keep the soil moist.
