What is the appropriate row spacing and plant spacing for rice planting? How many plants per acre is the appropriate planting density?

Rice planting spacing

The distance between rice plants is generally about 10 to 13 centimeters , and the row spacing is about 30 centimeters . For relatively high-quality rice varieties, appropriate dense planting can be carried out, which can also prevent the rice from lodging.

Maintaining a certain row spacing and plant spacing when planting rice can not only allow the rice to receive more sunlight, but also enhance the crop's photosynthesis, thereby increasing rice yield.

Rice yield per mu

The amount of rice produced is related to the rice planting environment and method. For ordinary rice farmers, when planting in an open-air environment, the yield of early rice per mu is approximately between 800 and 1,000 kilograms.

The yield of late rice is basically between 1,200 and 1,500 jin. The yield of one-season rice is similar to that of late rice, and the yield per mu is also mostly between 1,200 and 1,500 jin.

Rice harvest time

1. North

There is a certain difference in the maturity period of rice in the south and the north. Generally, in the north, rice can be sown before Qingming Festival and transplanted at the end of April to the beginning of May. The growing period of the first season is 104 days, and the growing period of the second season is 87 days. Under normal circumstances, harvesting can be carried out in early August.

2. South

Early-maturing rice in the southern region can usually be planted in mid-April, and transplanting starts in May and the rice will mature in late July. Because the temperature in the south is relatively higher than in the north, the growing period is relatively short.

If you want to plant a second crop of rice, you can plant the rice seedlings immediately after it matures and finish it before the beginning of autumn. The second crop of rice will be mature around late October to November.
